“Healing is the most courageous act a human being can do” -Dr. Nicole LePera
Each person has their own unique story filled with beautiful moments and challenging obstacles. Whether you’re going through a particularly difficult season of life or looking to work on a specific challenge you’ve been facing, therapy can help. Therapy will offer you a safe space to be vulnerable, explore new perspectives, and find acceptance.
Marissa works collaboratively with individuals (8+).
Her areas of practice and experience include:
Marissa practices primarily from a person-centered approach, which allows her to focus on building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients. Once a trusting relationship is established, she uses an integrative approach, in which she incorporates techniques from different therapeutic modalities. Marissa works collaboratively with her clients to explore which treatment approach will best meet their needs.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Marissa has a desire to work with others in a helping capacity. She currently works with children (8+), youth, and adults to help improve their overall well-being and mental health. Marissa has a degree in Child Studies with a minor in Psychology from Carleton University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She has experience working at an Intensive Behavioural Intervention treatment centre for children on the autism spectrum and over four years of experience working with children in various roles.
Marissa understands that seeking help can be daunting. She is here to validate your experience by supporting you throughout the entire process. If you have any questions or if you are interested in booking a session, please reach out to her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
